Just a short drive out of the picturesque market town of Dolgellau, down a long and winding private road, you will find Pat & Julian Jones ready to welcome you to the beautiful Tal y Waen Cottages. Owl and Buzzard Cottages are two lovely, single storey, stone built barn conversions set within the stunning scenery of Dolgellau and Cader Idris.
Away from the hustle and bustle of town life, here you have miles of unspoilt, stunning scenery to explore at your leisure. Whether you want to relax, partake in one of the many outdoor activities or take in the culture and explore the Snowdonia region, you couldn’t find a better base. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, climbing and cycling (amongst many other activities) and is also renowned for its abundance of wildlife. For a more leisurely day, why not visit one of the nearby lakes or beaches?
If you just want to relax, you will find our cottages have everything you need. For a night in, each cottage has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa, TV with DVD player and selection of DVDs, CD player and selection of books and board games. If you want to relax outside, you have a small private garden with furniture, BBQ and lockable shed for your use with stunning views and access to our field.
Laid out on one floor for easy accessibility, with minimal impact to the surrounding area and recently decorated to a modern yet comfortable style, Tal y Waen cottages provide spacious and homely open plan living areas, 2 comfortable bedrooms each, with plenty of storage and a shower room. The cottages are cosy in the cooler months and fresh and airy in the warmer seasons.
Within easy reach of the main house, should you require it, the cottages are set apart for your privacy.
All fuel, power, bedlinen and towels are included in the rent.
The water is a fresh, natural, private supply direct from our well. It is UV filtered and tested regularly.
A well behaved pet is welcomed upon request.
Dolgellau is a pretty market town in the lower slopes of Cader Idris - part of the Snowdonia National Park. The town has all the amenities you need plus award winning restaurants, artisan bakeries, art galleries and much more. This is the ideal location to discover the wider area, packed full of natural wonder and ancient history. You will find old evidence of the slate and gold industries alongside beautiful forests, lakes, waterfalls, beaches and mountains. At night enjoy the tranquility and the beauty of the star filled skies. There is plenty to do and yet you can feel totally free and away from the crowds.
Having holidayed in this part of Wales many times over the years, in 2006 we moved to the picturesque town of Dolgellau, which nestles within the Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, North Wales.
